Hey Djan is a French project revolving around Armenian music created and directed by the multi-instrumentalist Adrien Soleiman.
Thanks to his wife, he fell in love with Armenian music and culture. In March 2020, during the first lockdown, he gathered some of his greatest musician friends and two Armenian singers to create « Hey Djan ».

Hey Djan aims at restyling and refreshing Armenian classic and pop songs with the ambition of spreading Armenian music beyond the community, using the band members experience and inspirations. Through their passion of Armenian music, Hey Djan invites music lovers to deep dive into the heart of the Armenian culture, from the Mediterranean to the edge of East.

The amazingly gigantic repertoire of Armenian songs offers the band a playground without boundaries and limitless in terms of creation where people would be invited to travel and dream of Hayastan. A journey through space and time where ancient Armenian songs fuse with modern and natural soundtracks.

Band members :

Anaïs Aghayan (singer)
From the age of 6, she practiced the piano, violin and transverse flute. She studies music theory at the Conservatoire de Montreuil.
In her young years, she is part of the Armenian choir of the Tebrotzassère School, which earned her to perform at the age of 9 at the Grand Amphithéâtre de la Sorbonne and at the Opéra Comique in Garbis Aprikian’s oratorio.

Djivan Abkarian (singer) :
He plays in the band Howlin Jaws and composed the soundtrack of French director Simon Abkarian’s play “Electre des bas-fonds”.

Adrien Soleiman (musical direction, keyboards, saxophone, backing vocals) :
He plays, records albums and works with some of the major French contemporary artists like : Philippe Katerine, Amadou & Mariam, Kavinsky, Juliette Armanet, Arman Méliès, Malik Djoudi, Bon Voyage Organisation, Rilès, Victor Le Masne..

Adrian Edeline (guitar) :
He plays, records albums and works with some of the major French contemporary artists like: Lescop, Bon Voyage Organisation, Juliette Armanet, Clara Luciani, Gaëtan Roussel, Halo Maud, Alain Souchon, Adrien Gallot, Ricky Hollywood, Tiger Tigre..

Maxime Daoud (guitar/bass) (Ojard) :
He plays, records albums and works with artists like: Forever Pavot, Papooz, Amadou et Mariam, Meryem Aboulouafa, Para One, Malik Djoudi..

Arnaud Biscay (drums)
